4D has been chosen by The University of Melbourne's Faculty
of Arts as their preferred development environment. 4D has been chosen over
more mainstream rivals on both the Windows and Macintosh platforms.
A faculty wide licence has been purchased which will enable the Faculty
to further develop and deploy some 5 major 4D projects as well as explore
many more future projects. The licence also allows the rest of the University
to utilise all of 4D's development and deployment products.
Damon Carley, Managing Director of 4D Australasia, says "We intend
to have the whole University exposed to the power of 4D. The Faculty licence
will quickly increase the use and exposure of 4D within the University and
allow them to take advantage of 4D's rapid development and flexible deployment
options. We are pleased to have the University of Melbourne's support
and look forward to increasing the number of Faculty and University Site
Licences across Australasia".
James Hale, IT Manager - Faculty of Arts, Melbourne University, said "4D
has been our preferred development environment for some time and the introduction
of the new Faculty Licence will allow us to extend the leverage of 4D to
our entire client base. I am confident our department's use of the product
will quickly spread University wide".
