This server integrates a full-featured Web server and a web application server with complete 4D database server integration on either the Mac or Windows platform. There are no limits to the number of web connections.
In keeping with the open philosophy of the Internet, the 4D Web Application Server can be licensed for either commercial or open source applications. It is available at a greatly reduced price under a Non Commercial License, for web application deployments where the source code is exclusively owned by the end-user organization. In this way, consultants can develop “one-off” web applications and allow their customers to take advantage of this highly attractive pricing.
In addition, companies deploying web applications whose source is licensed under the Open Source MIT License or Open Source BSD license can also take advantage of this reduced pricing via this licensing. Of course, such applications can only be used exclusively for that organization’s business purposes and like all 4D products cannot be shared, rented, used as a Software-as-a-Service offering, or similar purposes. ISVs and vertical market developers, in general, should use the Commercial license.
